0 Celebrated International Men’s Day for Gender Equality, 17 men honored The Ideal Man Award.
“TIMA is given to those respected men who respect women, who have always been supportive to women, promote women empowerment and celebrate the birth of a girl child. They work for gender equality and an inspiration for the women equality and empowerment movement.” said Mr Sarasvatichandra Acharya, the Co-Founder of TIMA. Mr Acharya is also Founder of Amdavad Film Festival and author of Hello Gujarat book series in Gujarati, Hindi and English languages.
The Greek word TIMA means ‘Honour to God’. Here there is respect to good men in the community. With this notion, The Ideal Men Awards is organised.
“TIMA is not an event, It is a movement ! We have been celebrating international Women’s Day for many years but not Men’s day. International Men’s Day is an opportunity to honour the men who have always been chivalrous to women.” says TIMA Founder Manisha Sharma who is a decorated Documentary Film Maker- Author -Interviewer. She founded Dirgha Media Production House. She has received multiple awards and recognition for their contribution in creating social awareness through more than hundred of documentary films and her other ventures.
There are many not-so-good people in the society responsible for atrocities against women. At the same time, we have many noble men who have principles and values. With this recognition, Lets thank those men who have played a very positive role in their respective families, organisation and society.
TIMA started last year when 25 men were awarded on this occasion. This year 530 nominations were received, out of them 17 were selected for TIMA 2020.
